Helping is fun!

This week we have been working on the Letter Hh.

We sang a variety of Letter Hh songs and read different books about the letter Hh and what helping others looks like.

One of our amazing students even went to the toy box after our Letter Hh song and picked up a couple of h-h-hats as well as the dress up costume of a horse.

We all then proceeded to collect a range of different hats and try them on. What clever students we have in Ruma Wha!

Every afternoon all the children in Room 4 help to pack up the classroom.  Some lift up the chairs, others put the bean bags on the tables and some empty out the scrap bucket.  It is wonderful to have so many h-h-helpers in the Ruma Wha.  This afternoon three students were all working together to lift the heavy bench seats onto the table.  Ka pai!

Remarkable RDA Riders

Each week several tamariki from Ruma Wha and Ruma Rima are fortunate enough to attend Riding for the Disabled.

This is a fabulous time for our tamariki to strengthen a variety of muscles in their bodies as well as improve their concentration and attention span.  This also includes hand and eye co-ordination which is necessary for skills such as writing.  The benefits gained from RDA are truly amazing and the children all love their time on the horse as you can see from the photos and videos below.

Check out a couple of short video clips as well.
